PetCheck legal
Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-08-27
These Terms govern your use of PetCheck, including its free observation tools, Customer Memory, optional account connection, and PetCheck Plus. By using PetCheck, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1) What PetCheck is—and is not
PetCheck helps pet owners organize photos, visible observations, context, decision records, rechecks, food transitions, and exports. It may identify visible signals or suggest a safety-oriented next step such as KEEP, OBSERVE, or VET FIRST.
PetCheck does not diagnose, prescribe, treat, cure, prevent disease, or replace a veterinarian.
Do not delay veterinary care because of PetCheck. Seek prompt professional or emergency veterinary care when your pet is unwell, symptoms are severe or worsening, or you are concerned.
2) Eligibility and authority
You must be legally able to enter into these Terms in your location. If you use PetCheck for another person's pet, you confirm that you have permission. You may not use PetCheck where doing so would violate applicable law.
3) Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate context and use outputs only as non-diagnostic organizational information.
- Upload only content you own or are authorized to use, and avoid people, documents, addresses, or sensitive personal data.
- Keep your device, email, Google account, and billing access reasonably secure.
- Do not scrape, reverse engineer, interfere with, overload, probe, or misuse the service.
- Do not upload unlawful, harmful, deceptive, infringing, or malicious content.
- Do not use PetCheck to provide unlicensed veterinary diagnosis or treatment to others.
4) Local records, Customer Memory, and account connection
PetCheck can store records locally in your browser. Local records may be lost if you clear site data, remove the browser profile, change devices, or experience device failure. You are responsible for keeping any export or backup you need.
Customer Memory is an optional encrypted cloud copy of limited structured records; stool-photo image bytes are excluded. Google or verified-email connection is optional and can support cross-device recovery. PetCheck may pause automatic identity merging when two verified principals already contain records or paid access. You may need to contact support to resolve a conflict safely.
5) User content and permission to process it
You retain your rights in content you submit. You grant PetCheck and its service providers a limited, non-exclusive permission to host, transmit, resize, analyze, encrypt, sync, restore, export, and otherwise process that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, and improve PetCheck or to comply with law. This permission ends when the content is deleted, subject to backups, security records, provider retention, disputes, and legal obligations described in the Privacy Policy.
6) PetCheck Plus, checkout, and renewal
PetCheck may offer PetCheck Plus Monthly and PetCheck Plus Yearly. Current prices, included features, billing interval, currency, taxes, and renewal terms are shown on the Pricing page and at checkout. A paid subscription renews automatically until canceled.
Polar provides checkout and acts as merchant of record for the transaction. Polar collects payment details, sends billing communications, and makes its buyer terms available at checkout. PetCheck receives limited purchase and entitlement metadata but does not store your full card number or security code.
An account is not required before checkout. A signed browser claim may activate and recover Plus in the purchasing browser. Connecting Google or a verified email afterward is optional but is the safer way to recover access across devices.
7) Cancellations and refunds
You can cancel an active subscription through the Polar Customer Portal linked from PetCheck. A scheduled cancellation normally takes effect at the next billing cycle, and Plus generally remains available through the paid period shown in the portal. Polar provides cancellation confirmation and access to receipts and invoices.
Refunds are evaluated under applicable law, the terms shown at checkout, card-network rules, and the applicable refund policy. Except where required by law or where the paid product was not provided, fees for elapsed billing periods are generally non-refundable. For a billing or refund request, contactsupport@getpetcheck.comand include the Polar order or receipt identifier—but never send full card details or a security code.
8) Outputs and decisions
Photo checks, visible-signal descriptions, summaries, comparisons, trend views, reminders, and exports can be incomplete, unavailable, or incorrect. Image quality, lighting, angle, incomplete context, model limits, and technical failures can affect results. You remain responsible for veterinary decisions and outcomes.
9) Availability and changes
We may maintain, modify, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. We may change Plus features or future prices; changes affecting an existing paid subscription will be handled through checkout, billing notices, and applicable law.
10) Third-party services
PetCheck relies on services such as Google, OpenAI, Polar, Vercel, Resend, and managed storage providers. Their services and terms may apply to the portions they operate. PetCheck is not responsible for a third-party service's independent availability, security, or acts beyond our reasonable control.
11) Suspension and termination
We may limit or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address unlawful use, abuse, security risk, non-payment, material breach, or harm to users, PetCheck, or third parties. You may stop using PetCheck at any time. Ending use does not automatically cancel a paid subscription; cancel it through the Polar portal.
12) Intellectual property
PetCheck's software, design, branding, documentation, and service content—excluding your submitted content—are owned by or licensed to PetCheck and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant only a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service as provided.
13) Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PetCheck is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and availability. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14) Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PetCheck and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, or data arising from the service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, total liability for a claim will not exceed the amount you paid for PetCheck during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot legally be limited or excluded.
15) Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the revised date and provide additional notice when required. Continued use after an effective update constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
